Ask Catherine Morland

Hello ladies and gentlemen! My name is Catherine Morland Tilney, recently married to my dear husband, Henrry Tilney. I still cannot believe that God has blessed me with such a life, and every day I wake up thankful!
Please ask me any questions, or send me a message and make my acquaintance, as I would love to make yours.

Another trifle - you really ought to update the introductory information on your profile, my dear, lest people think we are living in sin, ha ha! Perhaps I am keeping you too busy to write in your diary. ;)

Oh dear, I hadn’t realized this! You are keeping me quite busy indeed. I shall change it now!

askmrtilney asked:

Darling! I woke up this morning thinking of how much I adore you. Not that this is anything uncommon, of course. You look so beautiful when you sleep, almost more than usual, if that were possible. What say you to a country walk?

That is so very sweet of you, my dear.

I think a country walk sounds grand. Meet you by the terrace in quarter of an hour?

askmrtilney asked:

Ah yes, I understand completely. I am prodigiously proud of you, my darling - you've turned Woodston from a house into a home. I daresay it will be fit for absolute mounds of children soon. Everyone has been asking after you, you know. I am having a pretty unremarkable day, made better by your presence, of course.

Mounds of children sounds like a grand idea. I feel badly that I have been so disconnected with our friends! I hope to remedy that soon.

askmrtilney asked:

How are you today, my dear?

Good day, my love!

It has been quite a long time since I was on here… so many things around home to take up my time! I am quite good today. How was your day?

Anonymous asked:

Do you think it is proper to kiss a boy before receiving an offer of marriage?

I think that, if one can help it, it is most beneficial to restrain from kissing until after one is engaged. My philosophy is that if you wait, you won’t have to worry about having strong emotional memories about someone who doesn’t end up being your husband.

My dearest Catherine. I trust you are well. I look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Party. As for the frock you're considering, I think you will look very well in it indeed. Oh my dear friend, how I long for your company again. Do write me as soon as you are able. Yours, Eleanor.

Lovely Eleanor! I am so happy to hear from you, sister! I am doing very well, thank you. I cannot wait to see you at the Christmas party! How is your life going, dear? I miss you so.

I’m thinking about wearing this dress to the Christmas party.
What do you all think?

Perhaps you would care to share your reasons for wearing this….

Let’s just say that my wife was trying to get into the Christmas spirit, and though she has many talents, picking out festive fabric isn’t one of them.  It is best to leave the choice of muslins to me.
Needless to say, this will not be my attire for the Christmas party.

I think you look dashing.
